Requirements
- CPA or equivalent – strong understanding of US GAAP, ASC 606. IFRS knowledge and exposure to international accounting standards is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in a Controller role in a high-growth environment
- 2+ years of Biotech/Life Sciences industry experience
- Experience with multiple entity consolidations, sales tax compliance and audit preparation
- Advanced experience with QuickBooks and familiarity with NetSuite implementation. Familiarity with Ramp, Navan and other similar finance tools
- Experience building and leading an accounting team from scratch
- Familiar with implementing and administering finance/accounting tools built for scaling the business
- Knowledge of biotech specific accounting regulations and experience with R&D tax credits and grants is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Oversee general accounting processes, streamline workflows, review account reconciliations, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial reporting
- Lead the accounting and revenue cycle management teams and manage: Monthly invoicing and collections, Accounts payable, Monthly close and consolidation, Financial statement preparation, Payroll entries, Financial and tax compliance
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and local accounting standards for the US and foreign subsidiaries, including implementation of ASC 606, ASC 842 etc.
- Assist with financial system implementation – NetSuite implementation experience is a requirement
- Build, coach, and mentor a high performing accounting team
- Develop and document effective accounting policies, procedures, and controls
- Oversee and ensure compliance on statutory returns and tax compliance globally
- The role will report to the VP of Finance, overseeing the accounting, treasury and FP&A functions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of biotech specific accounting regulations and experience with R&D tax credits and grants is a plus.
