Control Units Design Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or control systems
OR Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
OR PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

Responsible for the development of SEE components, including oversight of the mechanical design and analysis of components, taking the design through multiple gated design reviews, and oversight of the validation testing performed by contracted suppliers of the SEE components
Drive coordination of effort between the design, purchasing, manufacturing engineering teams with our SEE suppliers to ensure that program needs are met through the execution of the work package to plan
Ensure project risks (technical, cost, supply chain and schedule) are identified and managed in accordance with the risk management plan
Engage in technical, manufacturing and supply chain issues and opportunities to enable quick decision making

4+ years of experience in mechanical design or control systems
Desire to successfully work in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers
Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), change management, and risk management processes
Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques with knowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
Current (or ability to obtain/maintain) US DOD Secret or Top Secret security Clearance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
