Requirements
- A college diploma in a relevant field such as building estimation and evaluation technology, civil engineering technology, architecture, or building mechanics
- A valid driver’s license
- Certified member of the Ordre des Évaluateurs Agréés du Québec
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience using databases and municipal websites for research
- Solid understanding of construction techniques and reading blueprints/specs
- Basic knowledge of the cost method for industrial buildings
- Familiarity with the Québec Property Assessment Manual
- Knowledge of the Marshall & Swift manual
- Basic understanding of municipal tax law and related regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent command of French and functional English (spoken and written) – bilingualism is a plus
Responsibilities
- Maintain property records, primarily for industrial buildings
- Inspect industrial properties across Quebec to gather data
- Analyze properties listed on the assessment roll and validate cost method parameters
- Identify elements that may be excluded from the roll under tax law
- Gather relevant information about building and land value
- Compile and verify construction cost data as specified by the evaluator
- Help calculate building costs using current rates and factors
- Collect real estate market data

- Experience inspecting industrial buildings is an asset
