Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required
- Excellent communication and intrapersonal skills
- Strong organization and ability to perform services efficiently and within budgets and schedules
- Ability to work outside on foot for extended periods of time
- Willingness to be flexible with variable work shifts during the work week
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license
- Collaborative approach that can mentor less experienced staff and ability to build relationships with the larger team, clients, other consultants, and the contractor
Responsibilities
- Review and monitor project budget and schedule
- Oversee team of inspectors and perform construction observation of construction activities
- Maintain a field book in accordance with project procedures
- Review measurements of construction work performed and quantity calculations of pay items
- Prepare pay estimates, negotiate and finalize change orders, and respond to RFI’s and submittals
- Review Inspector’s Daily Reports and other project documentation as required by the project procedures
- Monitor progress of work and resolve technical issues and noted deficiencies
- Review plans, specifications, and submittals relating to assigned work
- Maintain company-owned vehicle or other equipment assigned for use on the project
Preferred Qualifications
- PE License or ability to obtain strongly preferred
- 10+ years of experience in a construction role is desired
- Prior experience working with cities, counties, or local municipalities preferred. Evidence of repeat work a plus.
