Requirements
- 4+ years of underwriting or compliance experience in the payments industry, preferably within merchant acquiring.
- Working knowledge of BSA/AML requirements that may apply to TabaPay and our FINTECH Clients.
- Experience conducting CDD/EDD on Business clients.
- Understanding and experience with Card Payments, ACH Payments, or Real-Time Payments, including associated rules and regulations considered a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customer-facing experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory and compliance information for various stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
- Experience with Jira, Jotform and productivity softwares.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage client onboarding requests from existing channel partners.
- Contribute to the design of new client onboarding processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Implement, enhance and execute TabaPay’s Periodic Review process end-to-end.
- Take operational lead on Enhanced Oversight for High-Risk clients.
- Identify areas of risk for existing clients, and lead remediation planning and execution.
- Effectively manage communications with existing Clients & internal teams to clearly define compliance requests.
- Conduct ad hoc and event-driven investigations.
- Build relationships with partner banks, with a focus on understanding their risk appetite and bank-specific requirements.
- Contribute to internal training documentation and compliance knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience documenting and improving compliance processes.
- ACAMS or similar certifications not required but considered a plus.
- Passion for fintech, innovation, and the evolving payments landscape.
- A self-starter with a “builder” mentality, capable of thriving in a fast-paced startup environment.
