Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in a second line of defense role.
- Experience working with states on insurance license renewals.
- Experience with performing risk assessments, monitoring, testing, issue management, third party risk management.
- Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all lines of defense and influence stakeholders.
- Relevant licenses including insurance producer/adjuster.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute compliance programs, ensuring alignment with company policy, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Perform independent monitoring, testing, and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of internal processes and controls and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Identify, assess, and escalate compliance risks, ensuring appropriate remediation and issue management processes are followed.
- Provide subject matter expertise in areas of insurance/service warranty programs, marketing, privacy, third party risk management and advise on effective mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the first line of defense to enhance processes, controls, and risk management practices.
- Partner with the third line of defense (Internal Audit) to facilitate audits and ensure timely resolution of findings.
- Produce detailed reports and presentations for senior management and regulatory stakeholders.
- Participate in setup/renewal of state/federal/provincial insurance licenses.
