Requirements

  • 10 years in a commissioning role, preferably with Mega Project experience
  • Demonstrated ability to operate, commission, startup, troubleshoot, assess and resolve various plant related issues
  • Experience and knowledge in overall plant commissioning principles
  • Strong background in all aspects of operating facilities including machinery, instrumentation and controls, electrical, mechanical systems, and advanced controls across multiple technologies
  • Demonstrated operations and technical skills
  • Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, interpret design curves of field machinery, & function checking of field equipment
  • Knowledgeable in process safety, health, and local environmental requirements
  • A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity
  • Regional travel of 75 – 80% per year with potential Global travel

Responsibilities

  • Support various projects or areas of projects which include technologies: Air Separation, HYCO, Helium, Gasification, H2 Electrolyzers, and Ammonia
  • Commission and startup the units as prescribed by the Work Instruction Procedures
  • Lead a dynamic team that sets the example for being leaders in Safety during construction, commissioning, startup, and startup stabilization
  • Plan, manage, and prepare equipment and systems for first time startup
  • Ensure development of work processes and strategy for field construction and commissioning of rotating equipment
  • Understand PLC and DCS controls, logic, PID tuning, and advanced control systems
  • Set the strategy and lead support contractors and personnel to properly install and startup equipment
  • Provide operations evaluation & determinations, issue operations direction & guidance, and oversee inspection & quality assurance initiatives
  • Lead and provide support & guidance during the construction & commissioning of the plants
  • Ensure documentation for all commissioning activities is maintained and submitted via completions database
  • Monitor quality assurance initiatives including installation & assembly, alignment, cleanliness, integrity, etc. of the equipment being installed
  • Lead and provide commissioning support in new installation, existing plant modifications, on-going operations, and continuous improvement and maintenance activities
  • Ensure activities related meet legal requirements and comply with Air Products safety and operations standards
  • Provide Operations guidance to ensure safety, reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, and controls
  • Mentor site operations and engineering teams in managing plant production efficiently
  • Provide operations support and safety leadership for MOC’s, OPHR’s, and other safety related initiatives
