Commercial Real Estate Underwriter/Portfolio Manager

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience – Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics or equivalent field
6+ years of experience with underwriting CRE loan transactions
6+ years of financial analysis, structuring, and portfolio management experience
Demonstrated knowledge in financial modeling and able to structure credit in modeling environment
Demonstrated practical and conceptual knowledge of credit and risk analysis
Must demonstrate strong judgment and sound credit skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong analytical skills and proficient with financial statements
Strong communication skills, and ability to influence others by persuasively presenting thoughts and ideas to gain commitment and agreement for proposed ideas and solutions
Superior written and verbal communication skills

Underwrites new and renewal business with top tier institutional quality clients including construction, bridge and term loans
Analyzes quality and quantity of risks underwritten and prepares reports accordingly
Administers and monitors underwriting policies and guidelines, risk rating requirements, laws and regulations
Supports deal diligence process including identifying all key risks
Oversees internal approval process including ensuring accurate and timely completion of internal approval write-ups and leading deal merit discussion on internal approval calls
Reviews relevant deal documents / information and ongoing portfolio management initiatives to maintain quality of loan book and compliance with loan covenant requirements
