Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 9 years’ business line experience including 3 years’ leadership/supervisory experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 12 years’ higher education and/or work experience including 3 years’ leadership/supervisory experience
  • In-depth understanding of principles within discipline and knowledge of others

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, inform and continually implement Commercial Bank Segment Support Strategy, aligning department roles and responsibilities and driving adoption across organization.
  • Work with CP&A Management and Commercial Bank partners, to understand and influence CP&A strategy and support needs based upon business objectives.
  • Develop, and maintain, a thorough and expert understanding of the Commercial Bank, including key initiatives, major projects, staffing, and compensation needs.
  • Help CP&A to shape Commercial Bank strategic direction creating analysis to further Commercial Bank strategies.
  • Take an active role in defining, influencing, and overseeing Commercial Bank strategic priorities and projects via business efforts within CP&A.
  • Set strategy for collaboration with internal partners on behalf of Commercial Segment Support team; includes development in support of CP&A and Commercial Bank strategy, projects and initiatives.
  • Where appropriate, participate in advising setting policy or developing and overseeing the implementation of procedures or controls related to compliance requirements within the overall business processes.
  • Utilize team to perform highly complex analysis and judgment based review, research, and/or reconciliation.
  • Partner with team to interpret results and present findings to make or influence strategic decisions within the department or division.
  • Provide leadership to overall team; ensure that managers on the team are providing quality coaching and direction to their team members in order to achieve business results.
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
  • Exercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management, and terminations.
