Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a custom, make to order, highly engineered product manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using CAD/CAM tools such as AutoCad, MasterCam, HyperMill, Creo, SolidWorks, Vericut.
  • Blueprint reading, particularly involving GD&T per ASME Y14.5M.
  • Thorough knowledge of a broad range of manufacturing disciplines including welding, fabrication, mechanical and electrical assembly, hydraulics, machining, painting, and sand blasting.
  • Experience translating engineering requirements, test plans and procedures, into bills of materials, work order instructions, processes and tooling design.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership abilities to oversee all phases of project implementation.
  • Effectively collaborate, employ conflict resolution skills, cooperate with various stakeholders to effect change and ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
  • Skilled with machine selection, specification, procurement, and installation.
  • Experience with CAPEX business case development and support.
  • Thorough understanding of Quality Control Assurance concepts and principles in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, SAP, Oracle, or other.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office) with expert knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, CAD experiences especially 3D solid modelling.
  • Experience in VBA or similar-to programs.

Responsibilities

  • Follows every reasonable precaution to ensure work is performed to the Health and Safety procedures.
  • Translation of engineering drawings and product requirements to item masters, bills of materials, and routings in ERP system, including specification and maintenance of standard hour estimates.
  • Generates NC programs for multi-axis CNC machinery, including Milling and Turning operations with live tooling, using CAM software such as HyperMill, MasterCam, Creo.
  • Development and maintenance of detailed machining processes, NC programs, including set-up, tool lists, tool paths, feeds, speeds, work-holding jaws/fixtures for the efficient and successful manufacturing of complex components.
  • Management of NC programs for revision control, create and maintain tooling libraries.
  • Interaction and support during acquisition of new NC machines, fixtures and tools.
  • Perform analysis, make/buy decisions for operational efficiency, strive to increase productivity and reduce production cost.
  • Development of procedures for Machine Operation and Maintenance.
  • Estimate manufacturing cost, time standards, and provide recommendations for methods and tooling for new or existing product lines.
  • Provide Training and mentorship to Machine Operators.
  • Closely Interact in a collaborative manner with Supervisors, Machinists, Design Engineers, Program Managers during the full product life-cycle events.
  • Evaluate Engineering Changes and other specification requirements and act as a technical liaison with other departments.
  • Feedback for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) changes into the product design effort.
  • Resolve Design, Manufacturing, Quality issues and disposition non-conformances to ensure an efficient process flow.
  • Participate and lead Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Repair and Overhaul (R&O) processes for customer returned product.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is a plus.
  • Relevant Aerospace, Defense, Nuclear and/or related industry experience is a plus.
