Requirements
- Operate multiple Makino 4-Axis Horizontal CNC Milling Centers with Fanuc controller with minimal supervision and with the goal of progressing to setting up
- Operate multiple DMG Mori multi-spindle, multi axis CNC mill-turn lathes and Hardinge 2-Axis CNC lathes with Fanuc and Mitsubishi controllers with assisted supervision and with the goal of progressing to setting up
- Following work instruction documentation and procedures to mount fixtures and establish work coordinates
- Proficient knowledge of cutting tools as well as speeds and feeds are essential
- Technical ability to read engineering drawing, sketches, interpret drawings and geometrical dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T)
- Ability to efficiently set up machines for complex parts and interpret inspection reports to maintain tolerances
- CMM (coordinate measuring machines) knowledge of operation
- Must have strong mathematical skills in geometry and trigonometry
- Fully competent in the use of precision measuring equipment and gauges to inspect machined parts and features
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of two year College Diploma in related discipline of Mechanical Technician – Precision Skills/CNC
- Four years of experience working in a machine shop environment with CNC machines and while working to extremely close tolerances
- Analytical decision making with strong attention to detail
- Ability to identify, select and prepare tooling for machines
- Effective interpersonal leadership and communications skills
- Able to work under minimum supervision in a team environment is essential
- Willingness to learn and acquire knowledge/understanding through study, instruction or experience
- Possesses strong organizational skills to ensure completion of paperwork and quality reports
- Ability to be organized, self-motivated, dependable, and work well with others in a multi-tasking environment
- Demonstrated ability to follow rules and regulations, complying with all Environmental, Health, & Safety Organizational Directives and Instructions and all other Site Directives and Company Policies
