Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
  • Security+ certification
  • 7+ years of experience as a DBA
  • Strong expertise in relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL)
  • Experience with database migration tools and strategies
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and database automation tools
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with data warehousing and big data technologies
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools
  • Experience with database performance monitoring and optimization tools

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)
  • Optimize database performance, structure, and scalability for cloud-based operations
  • Implement and manage database security measures, including access controls and encryption
  • Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for cloud-based databases – must have knowledge of database high availability and disaster recovery in cloud environments
  • Monitor database system health, performance, and capacity
  • Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Implement and maintain database high availability and disaster recovery solutions
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and cloud-native database services
  • Provide support for database definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection
  • Maintain database support tools, database tables and dictionaries
  • Perform database recovery and back-up procedures
  • Work collaboratively with customers, business analysts, developers, system testers, and end-users in a fast-paced, agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications related to Cloud platforms, Kubernetes, etc.
  • Certifications in relevant database technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)
  • Understanding of AI/ML data requirements and database optimizations
