Requirements
- 6+ years of experience with AWS cloud technologies, including RDS, S3, and EC2
- 5+ years of experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration and programming
- Experience with UNIX or Linux system administration
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Experience establishing and governing design patterns to architect, migrate, or build database systems and applications to public and private cloud environments
- Knowledge of Cloud computing and networking concepts
- Knowledge of data recovery models, continuity of operations, and disaster recovery concepts
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to obtain an IAT Level II Certification within 45 days of hire date
Responsibilities
- Perform back-up and recovery
- Analyze and resolve database system production problems
- Analyze user requirements and use cases
- Participate in database design and implementation
- Prepare system documentation
- Support data analysis on application databases in a primarily AWS cloud environment
- Serve as a database subject matter expert on a small team supporting 50+ applications
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the database
- Use technology and tools to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in mission-critical databases
- Customer support

- SQL and script writing
- Data conversions using various data formats
- Analyzing or debugging SQL scripts
- Learning and understanding application databases to support application operation and data extraction
- Provisioning database servers
- Supporting overall IT department operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with infrastructure as code technologies, including CloudFormation, CDK, and Docker
- Knowledge of DoD Cloud Computing SRG, RMF, and STIG applicable to application development, Cloud hosting, and industry Cloud security strategies
- Knowledge of alerts and monitoring tools and system management tools for environments and configuration management and Cloud orchestration tools
- Ability to formulate, execute, and refine a Cloud strategy and implementation plan, including designing and architecting next generation Cloud-based solutions considering the current state of the enterprise IT ecosystem and various Cloud offerings
- Ability to build out the CI/CD pipeline, including integrating modern DevOps methodologies, crafting unique environments, and culminating in the creation of Cloud native applications
