Requirements
- Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) – Within 60 days of hire or transfer
- Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing
Responsibilities
- Consistently sets an example of excellence in clinical practice
- Acts as a resource to clinical staff, patients, families and other customers regarding patient care
- Mentors employees in the development and enhancement of clinical skills
- Takes a leadership role in the promotion of Patient and Family-Centered Care
- Collaborates directly with Hospital Coordinators/Physicians regarding admissions, transfers and discharges
- Establishes nursing care for patients based on nursing process
- Handles unanticipated events and crisis situations in a professional manner
- Manages the delivery of nursing care utilizing the nursing process to provide high quality patient care
- Performs quality control audits, monitors and documents problems as they relate to nursing issues
- Provides appropriate staffing levels while being fiscally responsible with productivity standards
- Utilizes critical thinking in implementing the coordination of medical and nursing interventions
- Functions as a liaison between patient, family, unit staff, physician, and ancillary personnel
- Rounds on patients and families; responds promptly and professionally to customers addressing requests, problems and concerns
- All other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of Clinical Experience
- Bachelors degree in Nursing
