Requirements

  • 3+ years of clinical experience, preferably in retina or Ophthalmology practice
  • 1+ year of Supervisory or Management experience with demonstrated skills in motivating and training from entry level to highly experienced staff
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, detail-oriented and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, work well in a team dynamic as well as independently
  • Excellent organizational skills, time-management, ability to strategically manage workflow in an environment with competing priorities
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times regarding sensitive employee and company information
  • Strong interpersonal skills including effective listening, clear communication, effective customer problem resolution with warm encouraging demeanor
  • Demonstrates high-levels of critical thinking skills
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with clear 3+ years MVR and valid vehicle insurance to travels between clinic locations

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of Technician Floor Supervisors, Technician Education Coordinators and Ophthalmic Technicians
  • Works collaboratively with Director of Operations to update and maintain clinical policies and procedures
  • Assists the Director of Operations with numerous duties and performs other tasks as required
  • Assess, create, and analyze staffing projections to ensure adequate recruiting
  • Partner with Human Resources for external and internal recruitment activities
  • Engage in ongoing employee relations activities to create the best “Top Work Places” employee engagement experience
  • Participates in the interview process for all new staff and the internal promotion process for tenured staff
  • Support Floor Supervisors in maintaining staffing schedules and be available to help with direct patient care as needed
  • Performs routine observations of staff, operations and activities to ensure optimal organizational efficiency patient experience
  • Completes all required tasks in time management system
  • Ensure compliance training and educational activities are conducted regularly, monitoring employee performance and make necessary adjustments to any/all training needs
  • Work with the Director of Operations to ensure clinical staff are trained and proficient in all areas by completing thorough skills evaluation and annual assessments
  • Create and provide opportunities to improve clinical staff development
  • Partner with Education Coordinators to develop training programs as needed
  • Participates in annual performance review processes
  • Attend all meetings as required
  • Work to address interpersonal issues within the team and/ or team members throughout ARA quickly and in a constructive fashion
  • Able and willing to work in any area of the clinic at any time
  • Be available outside of regular work hours to support clinical and staffing needs
  • Communicate continuously with other managers regarding clinic improvements, staff questions & procedures, and clinic budgets; collaborating on managing all processes to ensure an efficient clinic operation
  • Serves as a point of contact along with the other Clinic Managers and Floor Supervisors to address physician concerns and team operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nationally recognized Certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of Practice Management platforms
  • Working knowledge of all aspects regarding ophthalmic care
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
