Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 5 years or more of related work experience with road and highway projects
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate is essential
Responsibilities
- Will work often with senior engineers, perform various roadway engineering and design assignments requiring the application of engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria for projects ranging in size and complexity
- Utilize drafting and 3D modeling software, tools, and programs, to develop conceptual and detailed designs
- Perform design calculations including material quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates
- Assist in the production and modification of design calculations, technical reports, engineering plans and specifications for assigned projects
- Assist in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts
- Assist in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses
- Provide input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation Geopak and/or InRoads, is preferred
- The ability to communicate and effectively participate as part of an engineering team
