Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including cross-functional leadership roles as Chief of Staff and/or in operations, strategy or management consulting
  • Experience working closely with executive leaders
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner at a senior level
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details
  • An interest and aptitude in solving problems and challenges by proactively devising solutions
  • Versatility and adaptability to handle a highly-variable workload
  • Proper discretion and sound judgment to keep information confidential, as needed
  • Experience effectively managing simultaneous activities in a fast-paced business environment
  • Flexible schedule; available for international/domestic travel, occasionally at the last minute

Responsibilities

  • Manage key priorities of the CEO and serve as the primary point of contact for all executive initiatives
  • Manage the operating rhythm for the business in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team and finance partners to ensure alignment on strategy and goals
  • Develop client engagement strategy for the chief executive in alignment with business priorities
  • Provide priority management and oversight for the office of the CEO
  • Attend meetings with CEO, taking notes, and facilitating takeaways
  • Review, draft, and manage responses to emails, ensuring timely follow-ups and effective communication on behalf of the CEO
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of Dow Jones’ core business and strategic plan; regularly promote the CEO’s vision to the broader team to ensure alignment and productivity
  • Execute on the vision through tight management of strategic, high-growth projects that are cross-department and cross-brand
  • Manage change management programs in collaboration with the Executive Leadership team
  • Facilitate decision-making with the CEO and Executive leadership team; act as confidant and advisor to offer sound perspective and guidance
  • Instill a sense of teamwork and loyalty within the broader team to inspire and motivate others around growth initiatives; act as ‘eyes and ears’ to ensure such initiatives are implemented effectively
  • Travel to meetings with the CEO or the CEO’s stead
