Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Ministry, Religion, Theology, psychology or counseling
- State of Michigan Driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Provides spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families and staff.
- Identifies and engages additional spiritual providers and resources.
- Documents clearly her/his interactions with patients and families.
- Collaborates closely with departmental colleagues in providing seamless spiritual care.
- Integrates her/his professional practice and style into assigned interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Prioritizes emergent referrals while managing time well across shifts.
- Maintains and applies a working knowledge of medical ethics.
- Able to facilitate advance care planning conversations and decision-making.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in divinity or arts in Theology with concentration in pastoral care
- Vocational/Technical in Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education
- 2 years of relevant experience providing spiritual care in a hospital, agency or congregation
