Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Graduation from an accredited school of surgical technology or surgical technology military program
- At least one year of work experience as a Certified Surgical Tech
- Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Current CPR card (either American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card or American Red Cross Professional Rescuer card)
Responsibilities
- Follow established procedural guides in the preparation of sterile supplies and equipment used in surgical procedures
- Perform appropriate room duties involved with direct patient care
- Function autonomously as a member of the operating room team
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills required to provide care and/or service appropriate to the level of development of patients
- Assist providers and nurses with vaginal deliveries, supply restocking, instrument flow, front desk customer service and engagement
