Requirements
- An active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Virginia is required at the time of application
- High school diploma or equivalent
- State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) or 75-hour nurse aide training (CNA)
- One year of experience as a nurse aide in a hospital, nursing home, home care agency, or a private setting under the direct supervision of a RN, which can be verified
- Completion of skills competency test with 80% or higher score
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance in your name as a driver
- Capable of all physical demands
Responsibilities
- Perform personal care including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, skin care, toileting, and oral hygiene
- Effectively communicate and document any changes in patient conditions to the registered nurse or supervisor
- Maintain positive relationships with your patient and team
- Assist patients as needed with lifting and transferring
- Maintain good relationships with the patient, the patient’s family, and staff
- Report any changes to the patient’s medical and living conditions to the supervisor or the case manager
- Ensure the living environment is healthy and safe
- Complete all documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines
- Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings
