Requirements

• Knowledge of the certified medical assistant scope of practice
• Ability to provide holistic patient-centered and team-based care
• Skills in handling patient intake and updating medical records
• Ability to administer medication under physician supervision

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools
• Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards
• Monitors environment for compliance with continual accreditation readiness and evaluates practice schedule for changes or updates
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time
• Provides emotional support related to the patient’s clinical situation in accordance with the patient’s plan of care
• Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment
• Surgery Scheduling
• Performs other related duties as assigned
