Requirements
- Working toward a graduate degree in Finance, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
- Intermediate to advanced programming skills (Python, SAS, SQL) with prior experience creating compelling applications.
- Intermediate to advanced data engineering skills with experience in feature engineering, ETL pipelines, and data architecture.
- Ability to think critically and innovative mindset.
Responsibilities
- Acquire a solid understanding for how we model and assess expected credit losses (ECL) across retail and wholesale portfolios.
- Develop innovative applications that unlock significant incremental value from our ECL models that will be applied to other use cases with a high level of automation, process optimization and precision.
- Apply your data engineering skills to create highly compelling data assets that will empower the applications you create while ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Apply leading data visualization skills to productionalize highly automated reporting and self-service BI tools that effectively unlock the value in the analytical applications that you create.
- Identify and implement opportunities for automation that drive meaningful value add.
- Understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviours that contribute to RBC goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- A knowledge of credit risk and the IFRS9 or CECL accounting standards.
- Intermediate to advanced data visualization skills utilizing BI programs (e.g. Tableau) and/or programming languages (e.g. Python).
- Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Prior experience in performing financial analysis.
