Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- At least 10 years of Category Management, Procurement, or other relevant experience.
- Proven experience as a Category Manager or similar role, preferably Indirect categories to include Information Technology, Software, Facilities, Professional Services, MRO, Construction, Marketing, Travel, Logistics.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Proficiency in using category management software and tools is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies that align with overall business goals. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and conditions. Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
- Select, source, and manage the product assortment for the assigned category. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to ensure successful product launches.
- Develop pricing strategies to maximize profitability and efficiency. Plan and execute strategic activities to increase customer engagement.
- Monitor category performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and conduct regular analysis to identify areas for improvement. Prepare and present detailed reports on category performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
- Understand customer needs and preferences, and ensure the category meets or exceeds customer expectations. Gather and analyze customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proficiency in using category management software and tools is a plus.
