Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of a High School diploma and pertinent work experience is required.
  • 5+ years of experience working with diverse types of claims in the P&C homeowner’s insurance industry required.
  • 3+ years of experience with Florida insurance laws and Florida good faith claims handling required.
  • 2+ years of experience in CAT claims preferred.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience including setting goals and managing performance required.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly for an insurance carrier required.
  • Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License required.
  • Industry designations or certifications a plus.
  • Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily activities and team members to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Evaluate claims and rectify policy coverage issues in excess of staff or external resource authority.
  • Utilize superior customer service skills while working with insurers and external business partners regarding the handling and disposition of claims and other issues.
  • Drive process improvements, maintain ethical standards and deliver high-quality results.
  • Review open and closed claims to assess and document overall operational performance.
  • Analyze and leverage KPI reports to drive operational efficiency and results.
  • Delegate settlement authority as necessary based on internal CAT adjuster skill and experience.
  • Provide leadership to internal team members and regularly conduct effective and timely structured Performance Feedback sessions.
  • Coach, train and develop internal team members; set goals and lead to success.
  • Conduct team member interviews and make staffing recommendations.
  • Participate in recruitment and installation of potential external CAT desk resources.
  • Pursue continued education opportunities to remain abreast of emerging laws or other required changes to insurance-related processes.
  • Facilitate the settling of complex claims and process related paperwork.
  • Ensure adherence to state statutes, ethical guidelines, and company standards at all times.
  • Availability to work additional hours during CAT events as business needs arise.
  • Facilitate a work environment that fosters and supports ethical decision-making and actions by motivating, promoting, and modeling ethical behavior, as well as executing job responsibilities in accordance with Slide’s core values and policies.
