Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 1-2 years of professional experience in higher education or related field required (Level I)
• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred (Level II)
• 3-5 years of professional experience in higher education or related field required (Level II)
• Master’s degree required (Level III)
• 5+ years of professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years as a Professional Advisor at Liberty University required (Level III)
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to understand, speak, and write English
• Strong organizational skills
• Computer skills
• Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature

Responsibilities

• Provides academic advising and resources to students through one-on-one appointments, group advising sessions, walk-in office hours, email correspondence, and phone calls
• Trains and equips students in using the Course Registration Tool (CRT), the Degree Completion Plan Audit (DCPA), and other academic tools available to support student success
• Communicates knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures, and services provided on campus
• Contributes to increased student retention by participating in various proactive and outreach initiatives
• Maintains communication with department liaisons about changes and policies within assigned Schools and departments
• Supports cooperative initiatives provided by other University departments
• Performs any other academic advising or student support-related duties deemed necessary by CASAS leadership
• Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner
• Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s Christian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred (Level II)
