Requirements
- Mature and personal Christian faith
- Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation document
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- At least one year experience in an office environment
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
Responsibilities
- Build and manage a caseload of young adult clients by guiding them through career pathway selection, supporting them through vocational training and employment placement.
- Lead the ongoing development of programming that specifically supports young adults pursuing vocational training in manufacturing, construction, transportation, and the health sciences.
- Lead the implementation of Career Exploration activities in collaboration with World Relief’s Children and Youth, Adult Education, and Workforce Development departments, utilizing a virtual reality simulator for clients to explore and build familiarity with specific career paths
- Establish partnerships with employers and training partners for participants to explore careers further, after participating in a Career Exploration simulation.
- Provide culturally responsive career coaching using structured curriculum to help clients explore interests, develop actionable career plans, and navigate key industries such as healthcare, advanced manufacturing, construction, and transportation.
- Facilitate virtual/in person Career Readiness workshops to teach key skills related to securing employment in the US.
- Oversee interns working in the Career Pathways Program.
- Satisfy documentation and reporting requirements in accordance with grant standards.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the Workforce Development, Immigrant Family Services and Adult Education Departments to creatively address barriers to self-sufficiency.
- Coordinate with churches and volunteers serving WRC clients seeking employment.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong active listening skills and ability to facilitate (or learn to facilitate) an effective career coaching session
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to build rapport with diverse individuals
- Experience in program management or project management
- Experience with coaching, counseling, or advising individuals.
- In-depth knowledge (or willingness to build) of various career paths, industries, and job market trends in the fields of healthcare, advanced manufacturing, information technology, TDL, and education.
- Proven experience in job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation.
- Ability to assess clients’ strengths, weaknesses, and interests to guide career decisions
- Expertise in goal setting techniques and creating actionable career development plans
- Ability to use and interpret career interest tools
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Cultural competence and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Proficient at public speaking and representing your organization
- Strong organizational and time management skills
