Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or other relevant quantitative course of study
  • 1+ years of experience working on investment or corporate banking deal teams in a relevant coverage sector (such as clean tech, power & utilities, energy transition), consulting, or sponsor-side corporate finance and project finance experience in renewable energy
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of tax equity and project finance terms and financial modeling concepts, a plus but not required
  • Experience building DCF models in Excel to calculate financial return and risk metrics in support of pricing, financing, and M&A transactions
  • Experience preparing term sheets and presentations, including Confidential Information Memoranda
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. Google Sheets, Capital IQ, and Python/programming skills are a plus
  • Willingness to take direction and engage team members with mutual respect and collegiality
  • An ability to break complex problems into their simplest component parts
  • Ability/willingness to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with time-sensitive deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Financial modeling of project acquisitions, portfolios, and projects geared toward evaluating new markets, participants, products, or corporate acquisitions
  • Assist with transaction management, including due diligence (data rooms/research), project documentation, transaction closing, portfolio management, and other tasks directed by management
  • Coordinate engagement with financial institutions, investment and commercial banks, tax equity investors, and other capital sources active in the renewable energy / distributed energy and electrical infrastructure segments
  • Partner with internal teams, including business development, legal, marketing, engineering, and project analysis, to evaluate and support opportunities from origination to closing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity and working knowledge of tax equity and project finance terms and financial modeling concepts, a plus but not required
  • Google Sheets, Capital IQ, and Python/programming skills are a plus
