Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 2 years of experience in engineering with a bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Responsibilities
- Utilize state of the art analytical methods to validate the structural integrity of Hot Section static hardware (combustors, cases, frames & exhaust)
- Be part of an integrated product team with responsibilities for executing FEMs, performing lifing analyses, and writing technical reports
- Perform detailed assessments including calculation of stress, strength, LCF / TMF / HCF lifing analyses, and damage tolerance
- Communicate results and interface with supporting groups across the enterprise.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
- Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams
- Experience including analytical methods (FEA), hand calculations, and spreadsheet methods
- Experience analyzing strength, stress, deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance
- Analytical, problem solving and trending skills
- Proficiency with ANSYS APDL and / or Workbench
- Experience working to static Structures standards
- Knowledge of LCF, TMF, HCF & FM failure modes
- Familiarity with P&W Structures tools and procedures
- Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- A security clearance is beneficial but not required
