Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing by the DC Board of Nursing.
  • Must possess a current state specific driver’s license and appropriate driving record.
  • Able to clear all background check as required by state agencies.
  • Receives and maintains CPR certification.
  • 3 years of experience.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Has familiarity and willingness to work with elderly population. Previous experience in senior care and supervising staff is required.

Responsibilities

  • Implements interim service plans in partnership with the Resident Care Coordinator as care needs change and assures all Med Aides/ Licensed Nurses are in-serviced.
  • Provide oversight and required documentation for third-party providers for coordination of care.
  • Conduct routine audits amongst other departments as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Implement systems and protocols per company standards along with state, federal, and industry regulations while remaining compliant. To include but not limited to Infection Control Practices, Assessments, Resident monitoring.
  • Maintain compliance practices per state, federal, industry, and company regulations and have ongoing knowledge on regulation updates and changes.
  • Becomes familiar with the service plan program and all of the reports it can create.
  • Orders incontinent supplies as well as durable medical equipment as needed.
  • Assures home health, hospice and ancillary care providers communicates their visits and provides necessary documentation of their visit.
  • Completes MAR audits.
  • Monitors the medication room to assure organization and cleanliness.
  • Assists with tracking and recording incident reports. Assures the incident investigations are completed.
  • Works as manager of the day as directed by Executive Director.
  • Maintains a monthly budget for the Health Services department.
  • Maintains and tracks that all health services staff have the necessary training required for their job such as CPR, First Aid, and dementia training, if applicable.
  • Full staff management responsibilities for healthcare staff including hiring, training, performance reviews, counseling and discharge, if necessary.
  • Complete delegation training, assessments and documentation per state guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical budget in all aspects: staffing and supplies.
  • On-call for clinical support to the community and staffing to cover shifts if the need should arise.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately delegate responsibility with necessary authority without relinquishing overall responsibility and accountability for the delegated task.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems in a timely manner, develop effective resolutions to those problems and ensure implementation of the proposed resolution, confirm results and revise as necessary.
  • Proficiency in English preferred.
