Requirements
- Location Preference: NYC area – Hybrid work environment
- Bachelor’s degree and experience in digital analytics and insights delivery
- 5+ years of experience generating actionable insights that aid data-driven decisions in building great products with great user experience
- Expert knowledge of SQL is required
- Experience using analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics
- Proficient in data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau or similar tools is a must
- Experience with A/B tests, experiments and conducting analyses across Product teams
- Strong analytical skills and quantitative mindset with an understanding of basic statistics
- Proven track record and enthusiasm for complex problem solving and analysis, including working with large data sets
- Strong communication skills and ability to craft and present data driven analyses and insights to articulate performance and opportunities to key stakeholders
- The ability to work across multiple disciplines with both data and non-data focused people alike
- Ability and enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines can sometimes be tight and stakeholder’s needs are immediate
- A hands-on attitude. Someone who is not afraid to dig into technical/instrumentation issues and won’t be stopped until they find the right solution
- Media industry and monetization experience is a must
Responsibilities
- Analyze user and revenue performance across Yahoo Finance to provide deep analysis and actionable insights that inform product/business decisions
- Act as the analytics lead for Product teams in a fast paced work environment
- Regularly present and communicate clear and concise results, insights and recommendations to Product teams and senior management
- Monitor site supply, demand health, and data quality issues, partnering with other teams to surface gaps and inconsistencies
- Build dashboards that are continuously monitored for business health, OKRs, feature releases, etc.
- Identify & summarize data trends via weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports
- Design and analyze A/B tests and experiments to support feature releases, ensuring data is accurately collected and interpreted
- Write custom queries via SQL to address complex business questions
- Work with Engineering and Product teams to decide how to instrument events and properties and ensure data resources are in line with business needs
- Support ad hoc requests coming from leadership and other key stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Finance
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience using Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery) or AWS
- Experience collaborating with Data Scientists and UX Research
- Experience with AdTech
- Experience or strong interest in the stock market and business news
