Requirements
- Requires a BS/BA degree in related field and a minimum of 3 years data analysis or related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Responsibilities
- Creates and maintains databases to track business performance.
- Analyzes data and summarizes performance using summary statistical procedures.
- Develops and analyzes business performance reports (e.g. for claims data, provider data, utilization data) and provides notations of performance deviations and anomalies.
- Creates and publishes periodic reports, as well as any necessary ad hoc reports.
- Takes business issues and devises best way to develop appropriate diagnostic and/or tracking data that will translate business requirements into usable decision support tools.
- Makes recommendations based upon data analysis.
- Performs varied data analyses which may include developing moderately complex ROI models and performing healthcare cost analysis to identify strategies to control costs.
- Identifies cost of care savings opportunities by analyzing practice patterns in relation to office visits, referral practices, and specialty care procedures and recommends policy changes and claim’s system changes to pursue cost savings.
- Performs modeling to compare various contract scenarios based on member utilization patterns and ‘what if’ logic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software highly preferred.
- Ability to manipulate large sets of data highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills highly preferred.
- Snowflake and SQL experience preferred.
