Requirements

  • Knowledge in developing pitches and proposals specifically in the Intellectual Property area.
  • Knowledge in developing and delivering engaging presentations, particularly using PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong project and process management experience.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and trends, informing strategic business development efforts.
  • Sound business judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Highly motivated, persuasive, priority-driven, and collaborative, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to adjust strategies in a dynamic business environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and perform well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor’s degree or any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Minimum five (5) years of marketing experience in a law firm setting.
  • Experience working with an Intellectual Property group is highly beneficial.
  • Experience managing a direct report.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client, prospect, industry, competitor and market analysis to inform targeted business development efforts.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to cultivate business with current and prospective clients.
  • Develop high quality, tailored pitch materials and responses to RFPs with meaningful ideas and creativity to shape strategic pursuits.
  • Identify and execute cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Business Development Director and practice group leadership to develop annual business and implement lateral integration plans.
  • Demonstrate professional presence and attend firm leadership, partners, and all practice group meetings to provide business plan updates.
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations to effectively communicate strategies and updates at meetings.
  • Regularly develop compelling practice area content to reflect recent developments, update practice collateral to reflect recent developments and enhanced capabilities.
  • Develop and implement industry-focused strategies and help the practices leverage participation in important industry programs.
  • Develop practice group directory and award submissions for publications such as Chambers.
  • Collect matter data for inclusion in the firm’s experience database.
  • Develop systems to help track progress on practice groups priorities.
  • Assist with the coordination of practice group events, sponsorships, advertisements and speaking engagements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop individual practice plans and support key initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s communications team to effectively promote the successes of the practices, including identifying media, publishing and speaking opportunities that align with the profile-raising objectives of the practices.
