Requirements
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience in Communications, Journalism, Advertising, or related field.
- Two years of related work experience in professional content writing.
- Extraordinary written and verbal communications skills, including editing and proofreading skills.
- Creative and strategic thinking with the ability to build individual pieces that come together to make a powerful big picture.
- A natural curiosity and passion that helps make content interesting, innovative, and newsworthy.
- An understanding of evolving content consumption trends.
- A general understanding of trends in search, personalization trends, and backend analytics, to inform content direction.
- Empathy, good emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity.
- Ability to hold constructive conversations with leaders to determine the best approach to problem-solving for the business.
- Instinctually collaborative with the ability to manage multiple projects and build positive relationships with people across the organization.

Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains understanding of target audiences by leveraging analytics/metrics and utilizes findings to deliver effective content and develop future storytelling initiatives.
- Creates and/or edits content in brand-journalism style for multiple publication media including, but not limited to, blogs, social media, third-party media, infographics, reports, and interactive websites ensuring consistent and compelling messaging is maintained.
- Participates in executing communication campaigns by writing or editing stories that align with the overall content strategy and business objectives. This may include, but is not limited to, researching, interviewing, and producing content that represents the organization while conveying the appropriate message.
- Writes in brand voice and tone for all communications; adhering to brand style guides and/or AP Stylebook. Proofreads work to ensure it is consistently on tone and grammatically correct.
- Collaborates across Marketing to execute campaign plans that accurately depict Sentry and position us appropriately in the market. For content, this includes but is not limited to, incorporating impactful search engine optimization language, following all communication standards and guidelines, ensuring alignment to visual designs, and adhering to the overall marketing strategy.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of content best practices, policies, and trends, especially as they relate to digital marketing.
- Applies content and communication best practices and knowledge to provide recommendations and solutions for business needs. Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
- Develops and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders to support content needs.
- May participate in various projects providing project management, research, and collaboration with multiple resources to address specific communications needs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.
