Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • 3-5 years in relevant work experience
  • Certified in mig and/or tig welding
  • Proficiency in metalworking and repair techniques
  • Has high standards of performance for self. Takes responsibility for actions, results, and mistakes. Is thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks; demonstrates honesty and integrity in all aspects of work.
  • Able to be self-motivated and prioritize tasks as assigned
  • Takes positive action to objectively resolve conflict by listening, staying focused on issue to find resolution, and monitoring progress. Maintains positive relationships by constructively resolving conflicts.

Responsibilities

  • Repair parts/components that are non-conforming to customer specification by welding, grinding, or other methods as required.
  • Body repair including damage assessment, structural repair and dent repair
  • Operate hand tools (hammers, pliers, wrenches)
  • Operate power tools (grinders, sanders, plasma cutters)
  • Operate a mig-welding machine to join or repair sheet metal/steel parts or components
  • Calibrate welding equipment
  • Maintain tools in good working order
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Tag parts
  • Move parts to correct location in the plant/facility
  • Participate in preventative actions where appropriate
  • Utilization of plexus (ERP system)
  • Conduct housekeeping for personal work area or shared facility space
  • Maintain welding equipment
  • Remove and replace fastened panels on vehicles
  • Mechanical fastener repair
  • Rework sheet metal on bodies
  • Adhere to and maintain safety standards
  • Understand customer requirements and adhere to the Quality Operating System standards
  • Collect/record defect data and share/report findings with the Production/Quality/Leadership Teams to continually improve processes
  • Participate in root cause problem solving activities
