Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs to and from primary nip (6 stories) in order to trouble-shoot problems and train associates
  • Ability to perform screen change and die clean functions as well as operate roll handling equipment (hoists, Crown Lifts and mobile equipment)

Responsibilities

  • Overall operation of the blown film line to manufacture quality products as determined by the production schedule
  • Gain and understand technical knowledge of the manufacturing process and products
  • Continuously improve upon each through teamwork
  • Effectively maintain and operate equipment in a safe and orderly manner
  • Work as a team with and instruct the Assistant
  • Drive results in the key metrics of safety, waste, productivity and quality
  • Personally operate and maintain equipment in a safe and orderly manner
  • Troubleshoot run problems and adjust machines accordingly
  • Regular checking of machinery for maintenance and perform operator maintenance functions
  • Adherence to processing conditions and key quality characteristics versus QC standards
  • Coordinate the efficient execution of all changeovers, weekly PMs, and scheduled PM production activities
  • Participate in leading the team in the pursuit of a culture of safety as a foundational principle
  • Collaborate with plant leadership to achieve overall plant objectives
  • Serve as a resource regarding PRISM shop floor transaction information
  • Act as a change agent in developing a positive culture focused on continuous improvement
  • Promote the use of new policies and practices in support of continuous improvement
  • Serve as a key decision maker in the department to logically determine the most productive course of action on given issues that arise
