Requirements
- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field and 18 months of work experience in the job offered or a related occupation
- 18 months of experience involving biosensor development (PPG, ECG, BioZ, temperature sensors), including validation experience, root cause analysis, and proposing mitigation for sensor inaccuracies
- Characterization of sensor systems using electronics lab tools oscilloscopes, power supplies, network analyzers and logic analyzers and optical test equipment (white-card testing or integrating sphere)
- Hardware design, including PCB schematic and layout design (Kicad) and sensor integration practices for wearable platforms
- Experience with Python including creating software test infrastructure to communicate with test hardware and process sensor data using Python or MATLAB
- Working with optical systems and photoplethysmography, including experience in the optical sensor manufacturing landscape, LED and photodiode physics, SNR, cross-talk, CTR, and noise sources
- Experience with Medical-grade temperature sensing and validation using temperature oven/oil bath
- ADC and analog front-end fundamentals for health and wearable applications
- Using and contributing to a version-controlled group software repository, such as Github or SVN
- I2C and SPI hardware communication interfaces
- Failure analysis (FA) techniques, such as SEM, X-ray or CT scan
Responsibilities
- Integrate new sensor modalities into high volume consumer products through all stages of product development (from prototyping, design, and characterization, through mass production)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in design, test, and integration of electrical systems for biosensors applications in wearable products
- Develop firmware solutions for testing and validating prototypes and products under test
- Failure analysis and corrective actions on integration of sensor modules as part of product development cycle
- Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks
- Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems
- Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects
