Requirements
- Law Degree (LLL and /or LLB)
- 1 to 7++ years of Experience as an attorney
- Facility to understand technical issues
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- Good knowledge of our products
- Great interpersonal skills
- Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written
- Critical thinking skills – displayed by the ability to find creative solutions to problems
- Ability to evaluate situations independently using multiple sources of information
- Strong Business acumen
- Advanced Proficiency in Word and Outlook; proficiency in Excel, an asset
- Advanced Communication skills and ability to collaborate with other departments within IPEX and external organizations
Responsibilities
- Maintain a legal watch and provide legal opinions, strategic advice, guidance and practical solutions on a wide variety of commercial, regulatory, IT, construction, managed services, litigation/insurance/product warranty and employment, and compliance matters and activities, as well as general legal matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of legal opinions, and commercial agreements, including but not limited to construction, leasing, IT and purchase/supply chain matters.
- Performing discovery and due diligence in preparation for, compliance audits or M&A transactions.
- Counselling on all Canadian and US laws applicable to sales, risk management and mitigation, and work with external counsel as required.
- Perform high volumes of junior level entry tasks and various organizational and administrative tasks to help organize the department.
