Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in benefits administration with exposure to compensation practices.
  • Solid understanding of benefits compliance requirements, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and FMLA.
  • Experience processing benefit enrollments, terminations, and life events in an HRIS or benefits platform.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and general data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills with a service-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA, and 401(k).
  • Process benefit enrollments, life events, terminations, and dependent verification updates.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers for benefits-related questions and issue resolution.
  • Track leave of absence cases (FMLA, STD, LTD, Parental, Military), ensuring compliance with internal policies and federal regulations.
  • Assist with ACA compliance processes, including eligibility tracking and preparation of 1095-C forms.
  • Ensure data accuracy across benefits systems and coordinate with payroll and HRIS teams as needed.
  • Maintain plan documentation and assist in preparing employee-facing materials and benefit communications.
  • Support benefit vendor relationships and help coordinate renewals and open enrollment activities.
  • Assist in administering the company’s 401(k) plan, including deferral changes, loans, and audit documentation.
  • Participate in compensation survey submissions and assist with job benchmarking and data validation.
  • Help maintain job descriptions, titles, and levels within the compensation structure.
  • Provide data support during annual compensation reviews and ad hoc pay analysis projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UKG Pro
  • Ability to develop clear, user-friendly benefits documentation and assist with employee communications.
  • Demonstrated initiative in improving processes or maintaining SOPs related to benefits or compensation.
  • Working knowledge of compensation benchmarking tools or survey participation.
  • Completion of or Progress toward CEBS, CBP, or SHRM-CP certifications is a plus.
