Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Organizational Psychology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience making process and plan improvement recommendations and leading implementation of that work.
  • 5+ years of experience with administering health and welfare plans (e.g., medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life/AD&D, and retirement) and ensuring compliance with state and federal benefit laws.
  • 3+ years of experience with leave administration, including short- and long-term disability, various state leave regulations, and at-work accommodation (ADA) management.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience using VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and other functions to analyze large datasets.
  • Strong data processing and management skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple tasks concurrently, and able to redirect priorities based upon current workload.
  • Experience with HRIS and benefit systems.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the various employee benefits plans and serve as the main point of contact for employee benefit inquiries, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, health savings accounts (HSA), flexible spending accounts (FSA), auxiliary benefits, employee assistance program (EAP) and COBRA.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with the company’s third-party leave of absence vendor to successfully administer all federal and state leaves and accommodations, including the short-term disability/long-term disability (STD/LTD) claims.
  • Review and analyze reasonable accommodation recommendations received from the company’s third-party leave administrator. Consult with HRBPs on accommodation decisions, partnering with management as needed.
  • Coordinate open enrollment including system configuration of benefit plans, communications, timely processing of enrollments, and post-enrollment analysis.
  • Regularly interface with multiple health and welfare benefit vendors and carriers to assist employees with the resolution of benefit issues.
  • Provide guidance to employees and managers on the requirements and provisions of all company benefit programs and leave policies.
  • Maintain and audit system interfaces to ensure proper delivery of benefit information to employee benefit providers.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPPA, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and other federal, state, and local leave and benefits regulations, recommending updates to processes and policies as needed to remain compliant.
  • Prepare and submit required reports, filings, and audits in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Prepare monthly reporting of leave of absence and dependent verification data to present to leadership.
