Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
- 5 Years of Proven Experience
- Strong financial acumen required; any actuarial education or similar financial experience a plus
- Prior employee benefits experience
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Mathematics
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
- Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation
- Experience related to health plan analysis or per capita rate development.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be flexible to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and opportunities; ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple, detailed tasks.
- Ability to deal with sensitive information and situations with professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of benefits strategy through data-driven analysis, program design, and implementation.
- Participate in benchmarking and external benefit surveys, including a review of the data submissions and developing relevant reports for review and decision making.
- Conduct research and analysis of market trends, regulatory updates, and competitor offerings.
- Stay current on policies, legislative changes, and legal requirements, such as ERISA, HIPAA, and the Affordable Care Act to assist with plan compliance efforts.
- Participate in the analysis and recommendation process for benefit design changes (e.g. medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k) plan, etc.) to ensure effective and efficient benefit programs and benefits management.
- Analyze healthcare claims cost and trend data to develop and/or review U.S. health and welfare employer and employee contribution rates.
- Support the development of U.S. health & welfare internal reports including financial, utilization, and dashboards for leadership.
- Maintain U.S. Health & Welfare Compliance
- Assist with updating plan communications.
- Assist with employee meetings, the annual enrollment process, benefit fairs, etc.
- Assist with ad hoc data requests and special projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Any actuarial education or similar financial experience a plus.
