Requirements

  • Requires minimum of 5 years of direct mental health counseling and/or substance use experience.
  • Requires master’s degree and current unrestricted license such as (but not limited to) LPC (as allowed by applicable state laws), LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as part of the Wellbeing Support Clinician (WSC) department by responding to initial customer contacts and request for services; receives client requests, assesses situation, determines appropriate course of action.
  • Provides telephonic, video, and on-site support for crisis intervention, assessment, short-term problem resolution and referral to appropriate provider(s).
  • Manages Critical Incident Stress Debriefing requests.
  • Applies specialized knowledge in substance use, intimate partner violence (domestic abuse), grief counseling, workplace problems, and management consultation.
  • Provides consultation and crisis management in partnership with managers, Security, Human Resources, and other leadership of the contracted organization.
  • Adheres to state and federal licensing laws and regulations such as duty to warn, mandatory reporting, record maintenance, retention, and release.
  • Remains abreast of relevant mental health, EAP, regulatory, and legislative developments, and laws impacting workplace and employees.
  • Promotes EAP and clinical services support; acts as an ambassador for mental health initiatives at the designated site location through promotional activities and relationship building with key site contacts.
  • Provides training presentations for various topics related to mental health, reduction in force, and promotional topics for the program.
  • Collaborates with Director, Account Manager, and Team Lead on contract related concerns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of virtual platforms and expert use of MS PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in professional written business communications.
  • Knowledge of, and prior work in, Employee Assistance Program environment is preferred.
  • CEAP preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, or similar systems and health records.
  • If not already possessing a NY and NJ license for counseling, obtain such a license within one year of hire.
