Requirements

  • University bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field is required.
  • Four (4)+ years of commercial experience with a proven track record of driving processes to achieve results, ideally with experience as a sales representative, sales leader.
  • Three (3)+ years proven experience in a company with continuous improvement culture and the core tools of visual management, problem solving, and kaizen are embedded in all aspects of the business.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce.com (funnel management, dashboards) and Marketing automation tools (Marketo, Eloqua, Pardot).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, experienced in using tools such as MS Excel proficiency and SAP knowledge.
  • Proven track record of Learning Agility, taking on new projects and roles and demonstrating success within an accelerated timeframe.
  • Change champion. Ability to drive culture and change.
  • Action oriented individual who is highly proactive at solving problems and obtaining results.
  • Proven experience in business process management or a similar role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent facilitation & communication skills both in person and virtually.
  • The capacity to plan, organize, & complete projects on time. Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines.
  • True love of continuous improvement, measuring results, and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business impact through CI and Kaizen initiatives, particularly in commercial organizations and in a fast-changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the deployment and implementation of the commercial excellence strategy, including tools, frameworks and the standardization of the commercial ecosystem (SFDC, Marketo, ServiceNow).
  • Under the leadership of the Sr. Director Commercial BD Excellence, support the global rollout of the BD Way of Selling, in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • In partnership with the Business Unit BD Excellence Leaders, lead the deployment of commercial excellence tools across different business units, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure the commercial excellence ecosystem and tools meet those requirements.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to associates to ensure successful adoption of the new commercial excellence tools.
  • Work with the Business Unit BD Excellence Leaders to establish certified practitioners in each BU for commercial excellence tools, including Funnel Management, Growth Rooms, Problem Solving, and Kaizen.
  • Cascade the BD Excellence commercial toolbox, utilizing digital training tools, certification programs, and an apprenticeship mindset to embed BD Excellence into BD’s culture.
  • Track the performance of deployed commercial excellence tools and make necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement changes to enhance the operating model.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of commercial excellence tools and any changes made.
  • Take a hands-on approach to support the Business Units in solving mission-critical problems that require an ‘all hands-on deck’ approach.
  • Become a certified practitioner in problem solving and kaizen methodology.
  • Utilize tools as facilitator of problem-solving/kaizen sessions across all areas (commercial, innovation, operations, functions).
  • Serve as a thought partner in commercial excellence tools to the BD leadership teams across the organization.
  • Be a change champion in the development and deployment of BD Excellence tools and mindset.
  • Be an expert (can teach and execute) in the BD Excellence fundamentals of Visual Management (VM)/ Daily Management (DM), Problem Solving Process (PSP), and Kaizen.
  • Drive BD Excellence education by providing broad coaching and trainings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulatory environment (FDA) or field within Healthcare, Life Science or Diagnostics.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lean and six sigma business systems is preferred. Certified practitioner in lean tools is highly desirable.
  • Certification as a trainer or facilitator.
  • Experience in a role that requires extensive travel to go to Gemba.
  • Proven experience succeeding in a role where the team expects you to be the expert. Demonstrated ability to coach and drive outcomes.
