Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience required; 5+ years preferred.
  • Two years of employment at Tyson or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with processing floor operations and fresh meats processing is a plus; 5+ years of experience in fresh meats processing strongly preferred.
  • HACCP certification and understanding of basic HACCP principles, including CCP monitoring verification, are a plus.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the production floor to conduct audits and inspections.
  • Ability to use fixed ladders, stairs, steps, etc.
  • Able to tolerate environmental conditions in the area of responsibility; the temperature in most areas ranges from 28 – 45 degrees.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to communicate with all levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and Train Supervisors: Ensure supervisors are well-versed in all aspects of their roles.
  • Performance Accountability: Oversee safety, quality, and workers’ compensation.
  • Team Morale: Foster a positive work environment and address turnover and absenteeism.
  • Problem Solving: Tackle issues as they arise to maintain smooth operations.
  • Special Projects: Take on and motivate the team for special projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in fresh meats processing strongly preferred.
  • HACCP certification and understanding of basic HACCP principles, including CCP monitoring verification, are a plus.
