Requirements

Responsibilities
- Cultivate strong business partnerships while gaining a thorough understanding of the business being supported; leverage understanding of business to make informed recommendations. Work closely with underwriting team to understand the business and provide the financial operational support needed
- Manage the accounting and reporting for premiums for National Accounts, Construction and Retail Energy business units on a monthly basis, and as part of the quarterly close process. Oversee the booking of premium, commission, accruals, loss sensitive adjustments, dividends, etc.
- Work closely with underwriting, credit, receivables and BU finance claims on reviewing and approving collateral adjustments
- Track and manage both static and depleting cash collateral; participate in building a new process to support cash collateral. Oversee balance sheet reconciliation process for related accounts
- Provide analysis of business for premiums, accruals, commissions, earnings; provide corporate with the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) reporting on a quarterly basis
- Lead the team in critical Arch Data Transformation efforts, including testing and implementation of BU, vertical data store, Finance horizontal data store, process improvements and data quality/consistency issues
- Help identify inefficiencies and implement changes that will increase the operational efficiencies of the business and will enable the department to support current and anticipated growth in the business
- Will have extensive interaction with various departments/disciplines, including other areas in finance, actuarial, legal, underwriting, credit, ops and IT
- Completion of key assignments/special projects
Preferred Qualifications
- 7-10 years of North American property and casualty insurance industry experience. Statutory accounting experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- Experience with Loss Sensitive insurance including large deductibles preferred
- Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant is a plus
- CPCU or other Insurance designations is a plus
