Requirements

  • Relevant Auditing experience or experience in Compliance, HR, or Legal
  • Understanding of Risk and Control frameworks
  • Experience with or exposure to data analytics, coding such as Python/SQL and/or other data science/machine learning techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach across a range of stakeholders, including senior colleagues
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic team player, supporting colleagues to achieve team objectives

Responsibilities

  • Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.
  • Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.
  • Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.
  • Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.
  • Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.
  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function.
  • Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes.
  • If the position has leadership responsibilities, People Leaders are expected to demonstrate a clear set of leadership behaviours to create an environment for colleagues to thrive and deliver to a consistently excellent standard.
  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments.

  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant Professional qualifications (CIA, CPA, CFA, CISA) would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of new and emerging financial products and services
  • Practical understanding of relevant regulatory environment, specifically banking compliance regulations
