Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required; Post Graduate degree preferred.
  • Professional Accreditation such as Chartered Professional Accountant would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and standards to support the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) control environment.
  • Developing and maintaining Financial Controls Policies and administering appropriate training.
  • Calculating materiality for the ICFR Program in accordance with a defined methodology in Q1 and re-assesses in Q3.
  • Developing and managing the Annual Financial Control Plan, including financial controls risk assessment and scoping; identify and communicate which controls are considered in scope for the ICFR program annually. The Annual Financial Control Plan supports the Annual Testing Plan executed by the ICFR Testing Team.
  • Monitor the progress of ICFR testing based on the Annual Test Plan.
  • Throughout the year assesses whether any changes to scoping are required.
  • Overall assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of the ICFR control environment, including deficiency analysis.
  • Provides Legal with the quarterly certification updates and provides the annual ICFR certification recommendation to the Financial Controls Oversight Committee and the Audit Committee.
  • Prepares the quarterly ICFR update disclosure in the Management Disclosure and Analysis.
  • Provides ICFR-related updates to the Audit Committee quarterly, as required.
  • Support the AVP Audit, ICFR Testing in design, plan & execution of an integrated testing plan with peers.
  • Supporting the Financial Controls Oversight Committee and FDICIA Oversight Council.
  • Assisting Management with determination of key risks and controls.
  • Supporting Internal Audit in testing scope coordination and communication.
  • Assisting Management in SOX/FDICIA certifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post Graduate degree preferred.
