Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Minimum two to four years related avionics experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge and experience of aircraft and avionics systems
- Knowledge of design and development processes, software and techniques; spreadsheet software and word processing software
Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate technical requirements from the customer to formulate conceptual and feasible avionic system designs
- Provide guidance and technical expertise to the project team
- Analyze project proposals to determine feasibility, technical scope and development schedule planning for the project team
- Be a representative for the company at customer facilities and projects meetings, providing technical input on the development and design
- Perform system/software integration activities to verify proper functionality of avionics systems
- Interpret, review and approve aircraft wiring schematics for proposed system architectures
- Create technical drawings and interface diagrams to support avionic architecture designs
- Understand aircraft certification processes and human factors implications to any proposed aircraft design changes
- Support the integration, ground and flight testing of newly developed avionic architecture
- Support the software/system development activities for the company’s new and legacy product lines
- Be able to work within a team of other project personnel to meet project objectives and milestones
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve the quality of products and/or procedures
- Understand common aircraft digital interfaces such as ARINC429, RS232, and RS422
- Have a broad knowledge of avionics products and systems with experience installing these systems on Part 23, 25, 27, or 29 aircraft
- Travel at least 30% to other Moog sites and customer sites (minimum two weeks at a time).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience installing avionics systems on Part 23, 25, 27, or 29 aircraft
- Ability to travel internationally to customer sites
