Requirements

  • five or more years of industry experience
  • Journeyman Electrician or Instrument Tech preferred
  • maintenance experience with well sites, compression and processing desired
  • strong organizational and communication skills are required
  • strong team player with the ability to work independently
  • proficient in use and application of PCs and PC programs including Microsoft Office Suite
  • valid Class 5 Driver’s License
  • Safety-sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

  • maintain, configure and commission a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
  • familiarity of AER/OGC measurement requirements for RTU and SCADA
  • assist with area SCADA Radio/cell architecture, design and support
  • understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification and emergency response
  • understand oil and gas facilities for production, compression, water disposal, liquid/gas processing and artificial lift
  • read and understand Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), Shutdown Key (SDK) documentation and Input/Output (I/O) layouts, panel wiring diagrams
  • understand the wiring and capabilities of process end devices (transmitters, pumps, valves, etc.)
  • understand PID control and perform associated configuration (includes control element selection, loop tuning, etc.)
  • ability to work with operations teams and perform approved associated MOCs
  • configure Modbus communications in a variety of devices for communications and control
  • understand and configure HMI integration to various RTUs, PLCs and other Control Devices
  • Enterprise SCADA System Support and Troubleshooting
  • communications issues/service failures/client access issues/hardware failures/operating system failures
  • understand interfaces to other measurement, corporate and accounting systems (PI, FlowCal etc.)
  • ensure ongoing performance improvement including job progression, site-specific training, process training
  • complete corrective work orders to repair/resolve faulty equipment affecting safety or environmental systems
  • demonstrate a consultative approach with members of the construction, operations and maintenance E&I staff, Technical Services (this includes internal and external Engineering support)
  • quickly adapt to changing priorities and requirements
  • maintain a high level of communication with all stakeholders related to projects, timelines and priorities
  • ability to be available for an on-call schedule; weekends and holidays included
  • some work in camp locations may be required
