Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Acoustics, Audio Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in audio product development and acoustic engineering
  • Experience with audio DSP algorithm development and implementation
  • Programming experience in MATLAB, Python, or similar technical computing languages
  • Experience with room acoustics and architectural acoustics
  • Experience with audio coding standards and wireless audio technologies
  • Strong understanding of acoustic principles, psychoacoustics, and audio signal processing
  • Proficiency in acoustic measurement techniques and analysis tools (MLSSA, SAT, etc.)
  • Knowledge of industry standards (IEC, IEEE, ITU) related to audio and acoustics
  • Skilled in using acoustic measurement equipment and analysis software
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong documentation and technical writing abilities
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to acoustic components
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and real-time audio processing
  • Acoustic measurement systems (B&K, HEAD acoustics, Audio Precision)
  • Audio analysis software (EASE, COMSOL, SoundCheck)
  • DSP development tools and frameworks (Matlab, Simulink)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop audio systems and acoustic solutions for our portfolio of audio/video collaboration systems
  • Conduct acoustic measurements and analysis using industry-standard equipment and methodologies
  • Create and execute test plans for acoustic validation and performance verification
  • Develop digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for audio enhancement and noise reduction
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize product designs for acoustic performance
  • Perform competitive analysis and benchmarking of audio products
  • Lead acoustic tuning sessions and documentation of tuning parameters
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure audio quality meets product requirements
  • Develop and maintain acoustic test facilities and measurement systems
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team’s technical knowledge base
