Requirements
- Graduate degree in Library & Information Science (MLS or equivalent) from an ALA-accredited program
- Evidence of proficiency in teaching
- Experience in information literacy instruction and research services
- Demonstrated knowledge of trends, capabilities, and best practices of educational technology
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, to a variety of audiences
- Must be well organized, and able to meet deadlines and multiple demands
- Must be results-oriented, flexible, self-motivated, and have an enthusiasm for teaching and technology
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Responsibilities
- Assists in the development, implementation, promotion, and assessment of the Library’s instruction program
- Conducting library instruction classes, orientations, and workshops that provide guidance on research methods and resources to students, faculty, and staff
- Creating and updating course guides, online tutorials, and related teaching tools
- Building and maintaining professional, collaborative relationships with faculty
- Conducting information literacy sessions and assessing student learning outcomes
- Supervising and supporting staff, including recruiting, hiring, and training staff
- Providing in-person and online research assistance
- Participating in the growth, development and professional work of the Library
Preferred Qualifications
- Second Master’s in subject-specific field or equivalent related experience is preferred
- Supervisory experience, preferred
- Interest in marketing, outreach and promotion of library services
